In this newly released book, you’ll find a cross section of his lfe:
- Snapshots of the future soldier at play and at ease from his childhood through young adulthood.
- A heartfelt love letter, written by an anxious Eisenhower to an Abilene girlfriend in the wee hours of a summer morning.
- A diary entry about short tempers and the U.S. military command in the frantic days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
- Notes jotted by the two-term president for his address to the nation as he ordered federal troops to Little Rock in 1957.
And there’s much more: original photos and correspondence and Eisenhower artifacts that bring to life the story of one of America’s great leaders.
