Remarkable People
Abilene Public Library is creating a valuable new resource for students, genealogists, historians, and other researchers. Donated materials such as biographies, family histories, news articles, letters, and photographs of notable members from our community, past and present, are being collected, collated and archived.
If you have materials you would like to donate please contact Martha Palen at 263-3082 or mpalen@abilenelibrary.org for more information.
Read about a few memorable community members from recently collected materials by clicking links below. Click here for a complete list of individuals currently on file at the public library. Information about Abilene’s most famous citizen, former president Dwight D. Eisenhower, is available at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum also located in Abilene.
